This month we are looking at Self-Esteem. When we look-up this definition in the dictionary;

Self-Esteem is confidence in one’s own worth or abilities. In my own understanding it’s having faith that I am meant to have much more than settle for a self that is devalued.
One of our biggest enemies is self, and the devil is fully aware. Once our inner person is attacked, then our down fall begins. Once we see ourselves as failures than we cannot be more than what we do not see. Abraham the father of faith was told by the LORD, that all his eyes could see would be given to him. (Rff.Genesis 13.14). How do you see yourself? Or maybe how you see yourself is horrible, how about we start from who GOD says you are. For GOD’S Word says you are made in HIS image (Rff.Genesis 1.27), we are made perfect through JESUS our SAVIOUR. (Rff.Hebrews 10.14)
We struggle with self-Esteem because we do not know who we are in CHRIST JESUS. For the Bible which is GOD’s Word says MY people perish for lack of knowledge. (Rff.Hosea 4.6) The Bible says a lot about us and not reading HIS word blinds us from a lot of truth that can set us free from so many bondages.
Daily we are faced with challenges and until we overcome them, they keep coming back at us. One of the things I have struggled with is self-esteem. I had never learnt how to express myself among people. Making me to stand in front of a group of people was a punishment that I would dread looking forward to the time of sitting down. Its tough, and this made me shy but also vulnerable to those that saw me. I always felt I needed to prove my self worthy. More like buy friendship and love but you can be sure this never ends well.
With self-Esteem you have to be contented with who you are, not trying to be some-one else. Pretence always back-fires. Sooner than later people will find-out who you really are and it will not be a good experience, in the long run everyone leaves but JESUS is always at the door knocking for you to let HIM in. (Rff.Revelations 3.20)
The journey of building self-Esteem begins with you. I am coming to learn by the grace of GOD that every decision in life starts with you and me. No one is going to make decisions for you. You choose to take a step towards your healing or drown in things that only bring you closer to your grave.
Are you struggling with Self-Esteem, we will be handling it in our next blog. Come let’s scale every wall with our LORD (Rff.Psalms 18.29), low self-Esteem can be a wall you need to scale because it hinders you from achieving your GOD given potential. Keeping you in the dark forever, imagine meeting your creator and when HE unveils to you what was destined for but you did not even achieve a half of it. Wouldn’t you be broken? Take a moment and meditate upon all you have read today, make a decision to be better.
Be Blessed,
